7 week 4 day ultrasound!

So on the 29th we went for our second ultrasound! I was soooo excited to get to see the heartbeat and get to hear it! I was so thankful that Jacob got to come too!

So we went in the ultrasound room and the lady started the ultrasound and pretty much immediately i saw the baby!! I was so thrilled!! Then I saw the little flickering heart and I started to get teary eyed. She then put the cursor or what ever over the heart beat and we got to hear it!!! I lost it big time! I started bawling like a baby, I was so happy! I started to cover my face and cry into my hands but I quit that real quick because I didn't want to miss any of the ultrasound. The babies heart beat was 170 bpm and she said that was great! Baby was also measuring right on track at 1.32 cm. So tiny!!!! I wanted to have the ultrasound recorded and I was supposed to tell the lady before we began but I was so exited I forgot. Luckily she let us do the ultrasound again so we could record it! I didn't want to the ultrasound to end!! I'm not really the biggest fan of the ultrasound lady, though. She doesn't say much and her scans are quick :(.

The baby is upside down and facing the right ( she had to tell me that). I also thought the dot on the head was an eye but she said it was part of it's brain. I really wish we could have seen more detail because I know there are little arm and leg buds there and eyes and even the nose is starting to form. Maybe if she had done it in 3d we could have seen but she wouldn't do it, I asked. It was amazing though either way! It's a miracle from God and God is amazing!! I don't understand how someone couldn't believe in God after seeing something like this. It is truly a miracle!

Here's our little one at 7 weeks 4 days! Heartbeat at 170 bpm! Measuring 1.32cm. They also moved my due date up to July 13th! That would be Friday the 13th! I was also due on a Friday the 13th but I came early! Maybe this one will too!

Morning sickness or Stomach bug?

6 weeks 4 days

Yesterday was awful! When I laid in  bed Monday night to go to sleep I suddenly felt very sick and had to go throw up. I felt better after that and went on to sleep. Woke up a few hours later feeling very very sick. I threw up the rest of the night and by morning I was still at it! I continued to get sick ALL day yesterday. I told myself in the beginning I didn't want to have to take anti nausea medication but I knew I needed it because I couldn't keep ANYTHING down. So I called the Dr. and he called me in some Phenergan. Bless him! I REALLY needed it!! I was getting sick at least 3 times during an hour and it was like 10 min. long sessions with my head in the toilet. Eww! I went to town and got my prescription and also went to KFC to get some mashed potatoes and a biscuit for later if the meds worked. I only got sick 2 times on that outing. I have to carry a puke sack with me every where I go now for emergencies. I got home and took the med but it seemed like it took a while for it to kick in. It started to make me feel really sleepy and since I hadnt had much I opted for a nap. Jacob woke me up when he got home, which I wasnt too happy about, mind you.  But I was feeling a bit better so I decided to take a risk and eat those mashed potatoes and biscuit. I needed to eat something!! I was really worried I might get dehydrated! I didn't feel too good after I ate it and I gagged a few times but I was able to keep it down! Whew!! I then slept through the night pretty good. I woke up at one point soaked in sweat but other than that I slept pretty good.

Today I feel tons better! So now I am wondering, was it morning sickness or was it a stomach bug? I didn't think it was a stomach bug yesterday because I had no fever but I feel so much better today i'm leaning more towards a bug. Let me take a HUGE sigh of relief here!!! I still feel queezy and I have gotten sick once so far today but it may be left over gross stomach bug germs making me sick or the fact that my stomach is empty and I'm pregnant and I need to eat! Here's to hoping today and each day after is much better than yesterday!

I forgot to mention a few more symptoms I was experiencing yesterday. Along with the severe nausea I was having really bad stomach aches and terrible gas and gas pains! At one point I couldn't move because the gas pains hurt so bad!  The stomach ached confused me a bit. Sometimes they felt like stomach pains and then sometimes they felt like severe cramping. I guess it's hard to distinguish between the two sometimes since the pain comes from around the same area.

On to other news! I guess I forgot to post that my ultrasound I was supposed to have today got moved back to the 29th. I was super bummed when they called and told me that they had to change it because I just want to SEE and make sure my little bean is alright and everything is where everything should be! 6 days to go! And I can't wait!!!!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and that means lots of family. We are getting Abigail in the morning and since we haven't told her yet, we will have to do it in the car on the way to thanksgiving with Jacob's family. Not exactly the way I wanted to do it but If we don't tell her then, then someone else will at lunch. Everyone else already knows and i'm sure it will be brought up. I hope she will be excited! :D HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL!!

Nightmares and night sweats

6 weeks today!

Lately, I've been having the worst nightmares every night! I keep dreaming that I am having a miscarriage or that I am about to have one. I wake up terrified, depressed, paranoid, etc.. It's AWFUL! If I fall back asleep I have more nightmares. Last night it was so bad I had to get up out of bed, to wake me up real good, and get a snack and a drink. I sat in bed for a little while and tried to get my mind off of things. I'm scared to go to sleep now. So scared i'm going to have another nightmare!! Getting up seemed to help break the viscous cycle but I dont want to have any of these dreams at all!! It is the scariest thing EVER! I don't know what to do. I don't stress during the day it's just those awful nightmares!

I've struggled with night sweats before but my goodness!! I wake up SOAKED several times every night! I hate it! We keep the apt at 60-65 degrees at night and I keep a fan on me and I still sweat!!

Symptoms:

nauseous all day every day! Started vomiting

everything stinks!

sinus's are starting to both me

Beta Numbers and First Ultrasound

5 weeks 2 days
I've been meaning to update but I haven't had a lot of time. So here we go! I FINALLY got my beta numbers back on the 9th. At 14 dpo it was 237 and at 18 dpo it was 1611!!! According to betabase.info my numbers are higher than average! I freaked out a little because a high beta number could mean I  am farther along than I thought OR it could be MULTIPLES!!! WOW! So they said they want me to come in for an ultrasound tomorrow!! WHOA!! So I went for my first ultrasound and I got to see the sack!! It was too early to see a baby or to see if it was twins. The Dr. said there is a possibility it could be twins though. He also said everything looked really good so far and that he wants me to come back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound and we should be able to see the babies heartbeat!! So we scheduled it for the 23rd (the day before thanksgiving)!! So now it's just 10 days until my ultrasound!! I seriously can't wait!!

Symptoms:

nausea is getting worse. I was having bouts of nausea that would cause me to gag but then would go away within mins. NOW when it hits it stays for a while and it's worse. still haven't actually thrown up yet.

occasional cramping

occasional headaches

fatigue

still lots of CM

bloating! yesterday my belly felt so tight it was so uncomfortable! my belly was poking way out! i was looking pregnant but it was from bloating not the baby. I'm so ready to have a bump though! I don't think it will be too much longer! My lower abdomen is feeling hard.

Wrong blood test

Well the nurse called this morning and I was hoping to hear my test results but instead she said the lab I went to sent off for the wrong kind of HCG test. GREAT! So I had to go have more blood drawn. Test results should be back tomorrow. I am bummed that I have to wait even longer but as long as the numbers are good, that's all that matters! Hoping they are really high so I can have my ultrasound! Dr. says he wants the levels to be at least 1500 before we do one. It's so hard being patient! I just want to see my little bean and see and hear that heart beat!!! It's going to be the sweetest sight ever!! OH but I did get my progesterone levels today and at 14 dpo it was 21.2. I knew it was 20 something but couldn't remember the exact number, but that's it!  Will post my beta number tomorrow! Finger's crossed it's high!!!

Symptoms as of today: 18 dpo, 4 weeks 3 days pregnant

No real cramping today
If I go too long without eating I get really dizzy and nauseous
A bit less gassy
Still lots of cm (cervical mucas)
fatigue

no real

First Doctors Appointment

Previous to finding out the big news, I had made an appointment with my doctor to have a Laparoscopy done because he thought that I could Endometriosis which could be attributing to the infertility. We scheduled the surgery for November 7th. I went for my pre-op appointment on Nov. 3rd (5 days after I found out I was pregnant). The day before I took another test just to see those lines getting darker. The nurse called me back and I got to tell her that I no longer needed surgery because I was pregnant! She congratulated me and had me pee in a cup to confirm. Another nice positive!! I just LOVE seeing those tests turn positive! I get sooo giddy! She put me in a room and I waited anxiously for the doctor. After a little while he came in and congratulated me. He asked me how I was feeling and I told him my symptoms and immediately he thought I could have low progesterone causing me to cramp. My heart dropped! I NEVER EVER want to hear ANYTHING negative about this pregnancy! He said low progesterone can lead to miscarriage and he wanted to do some blood tests. I was so nervous! He ordered my results to be back in the next day. I had planned on telling everyone the good news that day but since there could possibly be something wrong I decided to wait and get the results back before I spread the news. Waiting on those results were AWFUL! At 3pm the next day I still hadn't heard from the doctors office so I anxiously called the office and they were CLOSED! I started to panic, thinking there could be something wrong with this pregnancy and I wouldn't be able to do anything about it until Monday!! I talked to the emergency operator and asked he opinion. The only thing she could do was page the doctor on call to call me. He called a few mins. later and I explained the situation. He checked my chart and the results were not back in yet!! He said he would check again a little later and see if they got posted and if they did he would call me. I totally appreciated that! In the mean time I tried to keep my mind off of things. My sister in law helped with that :D At about 6pm I got a call from a woman at the doctors office and she said she had one of the results back from my tests and it just so happened to be the progesterone test I was worrying about! She told me the number and the number was great!!!!! I was so excited to hear good news that I dont even remember what the number was now but it was in the 20's! They like to see at least a number of 16. HUGE RELIEF!! I immediately called my mom and hubby with the good news and gave my hubs the okay to tell his brothers. I started thinking about how to tell my in-laws. We thought up some good ideas but just ended up not doing anything special. We told his parents first (my parents already knew) then spread the word on to the rest of the family and then on to friends. It was so surreal being able to tell someone news like that especially after everything we had been through. Everyone is so excited! Some of them are already guessing the sex of the baby. Jacob wants a boy really bad but he says he thinks its a girl because that would be his luck (silly husby), I think I would like a girl just because I missed out on a lot of the fun stuff when Abigail was growing up but I would be SO HAPPY with a little boy too, my mother wants a little boy, my dad thinks   it's twins or triplets! (hes crazy!), my sister in law wants a girl and has already been thinking up names, and others havent expressed an opinion yet. As long as baby is healthy I will be happy.

I still can't believe how this happened! After all the tests, being monitored, and being put on medication, we somehow did this on our own! I just knew it was going to take an IUI to get us pregnant! After we had to stop going to the fertility doctor because my insurance didn't cover it, I thought we had very little chance of doing this any time soon because we had no help. Well I was wrong! God has blessed us! We still don't know why it took so long but we are so thankful!

I am to get the rest of my test results back tomorrow and I will post then as soon as I get them! Can't wait to see that HCG level!

Here are some more pics. of tests. I LOVE seeing those lines getting darker!!

Answered Prayers and Halloween

I wanted a way to document the joys of my first pregnancy so I thought a blog would be a great idea! Here's a little info to bring you up to date!

In July of 2010 we decided we were ready to try for a baby. Little did we know how long and grueling the road would be. We struggled with infertility for 16 months, saw many doctors, and had many tests done. We always kept faith in God that he would give us a baby and finally He has answered our prayers! On October 30th I took my first test at 10 dpo (days past ovulation). I was wanting to hold off a few more days but i just couldn't wait anymore so I caved. The result? A very faint POSITIVE! I couldn't believe it! I knew it could be a false positive or a faulty test so I was cautious. The test I used was known to be faulty, I found out. So the next day (Halloween), I went to the store to get the best tests I could get. They would be the First Response Early Results (Frer) tests. Picked up a back of 2 and went home to hold my urine as long as I could as to get a good reading. Time to take the test! I was really nervous!! I watched the screen for any signs of a pink line and then, THERE IT WAS, getting darker and darker by the second! I was so happy I was screaming and jumping up and down! Jacob was asleep on the couch so I grabbed the test and took it to him. I tried to wake him up but he's not the type you wake up while sleeping. He told me to leave him alone. Haha, but I didn't care! I was so happy! I started debating in my mind whether or not to call and tell my mom now or wait. Well I just couldn't stand it any longer and HAD to call her. She was excited to hear the news! Jacob woke up later and I showed him the test again and he said, "Well I guess you're pregnant." Ha and that I am! This was the best Halloween EVER!

Symptoms so far: cramping that sometimes feels like burning, headaches, a few bouts of nausea.
Above is the test from Halloween! See the line?!
